Could you be a museum mentor? We are looking for people willing to spend 1-2 hours per week over a 12 week period, welcoming individuals who may feel nervous about entering a museum setting, and encouraging them to engage with our collections.
There will be a training day for anyone interested in taking on this volunteer role in the museum's Lecture Hall on Monday 18 July. In the morning a team from the Holburne Museum in Bath will talk us through what mentoring involves, and in the afternoon Vanessa Gordon, a trained mental health nurse and Trustee of Heads Up Somerset will provide Introduction to Mental Health First Aid training. This is an accredited course and the registration fee of £95 per head will be covered by the Search & Learn project.
