'Untamed Somerset' - Exhibition and Sale by Mark Noble.

Mark Noble is inspired by the natural world, and those artists who represent it through its wonder and grandeur, and by allowing the mind to cross the boundary between the physical universe and the imaginary one. Mark is influenced by Turner, who embraced the power and majesty of the natural world, and attempted to harness both its destructive force and its magical qualities to focus it into a single point of sublime beauty.
This exhibition showcases his latest work, ‘Untamed Somerset’, a collection of mixed media art, exploring the wild beauty of the countryside around us.
Entry to the exhibition is free and held in the museum foyer. Open 11am-4pm everyday.

From August for six months, a dual exhibition of Bronze Age artefacts and artwork

The fruits of the Beacon Hill excavation, including a unique Bronze Age beaker find, have been blended with the paintings of the artist Jane Stanley to produce a very special exhibition celebrating our Bronze Age heritage. Later in the year, archaeologist Stephen Minnitt will be bringing the Priddy gold hoard along for a day - sign up for the Wells & Mendip email newsletter on the front page for advance notice.
