Guided Tours
On the first Saturday of the
Month
Wells and
Mendip
Museum
is offering free guided tours.
Visitors will learn fascinating facts about the building, a
former canonical house, dating from the Elizabethan period. Just
some of the artefacts on display include Roman lead ingots (or
pigs) found on the Mendips, caving finds from Herbert Balch’s
collection and the Witch of Wookey. Visitors should be at the
museum by
12pm
or
2pm
(2008 entry tickets must be
presented or purchased).
If
you would like to volunteer to be trained as a guide, please
contact Georgina Smith on 01749 673477 or email wellsmuseum@ukonline.co.uk.
